The Universe Needed You

Pep Talk from Grannis

(Quilter of Confidence, Keeper of Ropes)

Well now, aren’t you a sight. Why you got your shoulders all hunched up. Looking worse than a skeleton I met while walking the Underworld after I got fired from my record keeping job. If you keep twisting yourself into knots you gonna have a hard time untangling yourself.

Come take a break with me, sugar dumpling.

You think the universe (which is mostly just flame throwers and nonsense) is sitting around holding auditions for who deserves to have a place to walk this Earth (or the Underworld)? Well let me tell you, I’ve been walking these realms for a long time and there isn’t some ancient judge with a sapphire crown tapping their clipboard while they grade your very existence.

Child, please. The universe is barely keeping its own pants on.

It’s got black holes to feed, stars to extinguish, and a pile of unsorted soul paperwork taller than my peppermint stash. It is way too busy to let anyone walk the Earth that didn’t deserve to be here.

I’ve seen the way you keep showing up with your shaky voice and positivity. Trust Ol’ Grannins…you belong. You were put on this Earth because you are a necessary thread in the messy quilt we call our existence.

And before you say, “But Grannis, what if they find out I’m just wingin’ it? I seriously have no clue what I’m doing, and I can’t keep up the image I have created of the perfect life on Facebook/LinkedIn (or wherever you post your cat videos.)”

Let me tell you something loud and clear:

Sugar dumpling, we are all wingin’ it.
Every confident person you’ve ever seen? Winging it in sunglasses.
Those LinkedIn experts? Still learning and growing.
The grim reapers? Don’t get me started. One of them still can’t figure out how to not lose their scythe.

You got to stop letting that pesky imposter syndrome destroy your courage. Next time that little voice in your head tries to tell you you’re a mistake?

Tell it Grannis said to hush. You were born to take up space. The universe needed a dose of the magic only you could bring to those around you. Never forget that you make the world a better place.

With Love,

Grannis
